RYA Scotland is looking for dynamic, hardworking individuals to join a pool of high quality Instructors deliver the SITC programme for 2006. The programme content demands outgoing motivated RYA Senior Instructors and/or experienced RYA Dinghy Instructors who have a mature professional approach and attitude towards teaching.
It is essential that potential Instructors have experience working with young people from different backgrounds. Preferably Instructors will have worked in different environments and have experience creating and reviewing risk assessments. Instructors need to be flexible to operate effectively in the demanding and ever changing locations SITC visits.
Potential Instructors must be organised individuals who have access to a car or suitable transport to travel to necessary locations. The structure of SITC requires that Instructors are able to work well as part of a team. Instructors will be working under supervision of the SITC Development Officer. Responsibilities include the physical setting up and packing up of boats on a daily basis, delivering vibrant sessions that follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme.

After CV consideration and completion of a short question form potential Instructors will be invited to a training day which is also part of a selection process to choose suitable Instructors, who will then only join a pool of Instructors that are not guaranteed work. RYA Scotland expects Instructors to be self employed and invoice RYAS for their services after each event. The SITC Instructors role involves contact with children therefore, if selected; you will have to apply for an Enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure.
