Powerboat Scotland (PBS) was set up in November 2002, with the intention of promoting powerboating, PWC and motor cruising as widely as possible, and promoting RYA training to the boating community in Scotland. PBS is concerned that safety is taken seriously, and that the boating community clearly understands its responsibilities to not only itself, but also to other water users in Scotland.

PBS is made up of the major players in powerboating, jet skiing and motor cruising in Scotland as well as RYA Scotland, RYA recognised powerboat, PWC and motor cruising schools and Powerboat Trainers. It meets approximately 4 or 5 times per annum, and organises cruises which take place throughout Scotland, and are open to anyone with an interest in this type of activity.
