Andrews Remains Consistent
Finn sailing is known for its inconsistency but Scottish sailing big man Mark Andrews yesterday completed the Finn European Championships in Varna, Bulgaria.
The local of Largs Sailing Club showed off the great progress he has made in the last calendar year by finishing 11th at Finn Europeans to complement his 11th position at the Finn Worlds earlier this year.
Mark has been steadily improving over the last few years and after being released from the Olympic program in 2008 he has made great strides to become an elite level sailor over the past year and has achieved the discretionary standard for performance funding and will be hoping to make similar gains over the off season leading into the 2010 event program.
Mark also gained his first domestic title this summer when he was crowned 2009 Finn National Champion at Castle Cove Sailing Club, Weymouth.
Mark is currently supported by RYA Scotland having followed the development pathway from Junior through to Elite Level performance.
